Just a Little Royal Jelly reflects on the social and political system that the artist grew up in, a system that taught her not to question. The work brings together two elements: a speculative story about a middle-class woman who aspires to become royal, and calendars collected from an abandoned house whose residents had left because of a termite infestation. The calendars, once distributed as expressions of loyalty and featuring images of the King and Queen, became the material for the work, this was a continuation from her previous work Anthill, where she imagined herself as a termite, consuming these layers of history and transforming them into a new object, this time a crown that anyone can wear.
